Cypress Agrees to Sell Silicon Valley Technology Center To Oak Hill Capital Partners and Tallwood Venture Capital
SAN JOSE, Calif., January 30, 2007 — Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (“Cypress”, NYSE: CY) today announced an agreement to sell its Silicon Valley Technology Center (“SVTC”) business to private equity firms Oak Hill Capital Partners (“Oak Hill”) and Tallwood Venture Capital (“Tallwood”) for approximately $53 million in cash. The transaction is expected to close by early March.

SAN JOSE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—July 12, 2006—Silicon Valley Technology Center (SVTC), a business unit of Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY - News), today announced that Cavendish Kinetics, a fabless semiconductor IP company, is using SVTC's technology development services to commercialize its Nanomech(TM) embedded non-volatile memory technology for incorporation into standard CMOS processes. By using SVTC's state-of-the-art fab and extensive process library to develop and characterize its technology, Cavendish is avoiding the significant capital investment associated with qualifying advanced data storage technologies. "SVTC's ability to deliver a cost-effective, manufacturing-capable R&D fab environment is essential to ensuring we meet the milestones and achieve the time-to-market objectives for our Nanomech-based embedded flash technology," said Paul Billig, Vice President of Marketing for Cavendish Kinetics. Cypress’s SVTC Enables American Semiconductor to Develop Advanced SOI CMOS Process Process Delivers Independent Double-Gate Performance and Submicron Manufacturing Capability
SAN JOSE, Calif., April 13, 2005 — Silicon Valley Technology Center (SVTC), a division of Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY), and American Semiconductor, Inc. (ASI), today announced that ASI will be using SVTC’s R&D manufacturing services to commercialize its Flexfet™ advanced Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) CMOS wafer fabrication process for manufacturing. ASI, a fabless semiconductor company that develops and commercializes process technology, is avoiding significant capital investment by using SVTC's 65-nm capable, 200- and 300-mm R&D wafer fab, to develop and qualify its process technology.

Cypress Announces Silicon Valley Technology Center
SAN JOSE, Calif., July 6, 2004 — Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE: CY) today formally opened the Silicon Valley Technology Center (SVTC), a facility that offers start-up and established corporations the opportunity to develop and characterize their silicon-based technologies cost-effectively, accelerating time to revenue. SVTC customers will have access to Cypress's 65-nanometer state-of-the-art R&D fab in Silicon Valley. They will be able to take advantage of Cypress's 20+ years of technology development and design experience.
