Bert Bruggeman was the founder SVTC Technologies and original architect of the Lab to Fab™ concept. Under Mr. Bruggeman's leadership, SVTC has become an innovative business model and a leader in the emerging area of technology commercialization services. Mr. Bruggeman has held the role of Vice President of Operations and General Manager for SVTC where he instilled a passion for operational excellence and a commitment to customer success. He continues to drive SVTC’s success through strategic positioning, strong financial management and uncompromising commitment to solving customer problems with the best talent possible.
Mr. Bruggeman brings a wealth of experience to SVTC having held several leadership positions in the field of technology development, commercialization and operations within the semiconductor industry. His roles have included Vice President at MEMC and Senior Director of Process Technology Development and Worldwide Foundry Operations at Cypress Semiconductor. Mr. Bruggeman was also the Director of Operations and Product Engineering at Silicon Light Machines, a start-up in the field of optical MEMS devices. He began his career at the IMEC R&D facility in Belgium. Mr. Bruggeman has authored and co-authored over 20 publications in the field of process development and semiconductor operations and is a US patent holder. Mr. Bruggeman holds an MSEE from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. |
Jack Sexton, Chief Financial Officer

Jack Sexton serves as SVTC Technologies’ Chief Financial Officer. In this position, he oversees and manages the company’s Accounting, Treasury, Finance Operations, Investor Relations and Legal functions.
Sexton comes to SVTC with over 25 years of financial leadership experience in technology, including 10 years with Silicon Valley based technology companies and 15 years with the leading oilfield services provider Schlumberger. Most recently Mr. Sexton worked in support of Philips Lumileds. Prior to that, he was Chief Financial Officer of Ultra Clean Technology from 2005 – 2009, where he was instrumental in driving UCT’s CAGR at three times the rate of the industry, while successfully guiding the company through a secondary offering and an accretive acquisition. Mr. Sexton was Chief Accounting Officer of NPTest from 2002 – 2004, where he managed the financial aspects of the company’s spin off from Schlumberger, through a successful IPO and subsequent merger with Credence Systems, where he later served as Corporate Controller. Sexton, a certified public accountant, holds two Bachelor of Science degrees, in finance and accounting, from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College, where he graduated magna cum laude. |
Gunter Ziegenbalg, President SVTC Solar

Gunter Ziegenbalg currently serves as President of SVTC Solar. Mr. Ziegenbalg focuses on growing the company’s global solar business as well as defining, establishing and overseeing the photovoltaic manufacturing development facility. Mr. Ziegenbalg previously was a key executive at Moncada Energy Group, Italy, where he led the successful volume production ramp of a 50 MW thin film solar line. Prior to that, Mr. Ziegenbalg was Managing Director of Signet Solar where he built the first SunFab Gen8.5 production line, ramping to volume production in record time of 14 months. Before joining the solar industry in 2007, Mr. Ziegenbalg spent 18 years in the semiconductor industry. From its founding in 1996, Ziegenbalg was President of ZMD America, Inc. and later Executive Vice President of Foundry Operations for ZMD AG, until September 2002. He previously also held several management positions at ZMD in IC design, technology development, manufacturing and technical marketing. Prior to that Mr. Ziegenbalg worked as a nuclear physicist at the Nuclear Research Center in Dresden, Rossendorf. Mr. Ziegenbalg is a recognized industry expert in renewable energy and has given several key-note addresses at solar conferences. He is also a founding member of Fab Owners Associations (FOA). Mr. Ziegenbalg received his master’s degree in Nuclear Physics from the University of Technology, Dresden and an Executive MBA degree from Pepperdine University. |
Wilbur Catabay, Vice President of Technology Solutions

Wilbur Catabay is a veteran of the semiconductor industry with more than 23 years of experience. Recently, Mr. Catabay was President of Silicon Integrated Solutions, Inc., providing Engineering Services for Device and Process Integration. He also was Senior Director for LSI Logic's Foundry Engineering & Integration organization and Director of the Advanced Process Module Development in the R&&D organization. He was responsible for evaluating and developing advanced material research for CMOS transistors and advanced metal interconnect technology. Mr. Catabay also worked with design and manufacturing organizations as the focal point for implementation of new process module technology from 130 nm to 65 nm CMOS technology nodes. In 1991, he was an assignee of the technical staff at SEMATECH.
Mr. Catabay has submitted more than 100 invention disclosures and has been awarded more than 55 patents with more than 26 patents pending during his tenure with LSI Logic. He has published more than 30 technical articles in professional journals and presented at various technical conferences. In addition, he was the Patent Liaison and Inventor of the year at LSI Logic. He has a BS degree in Industrial Technology from San Jose State University with a minor in Business Management. During his spare time, Wilbur enjoys spending time with his family, including fishing and photographing nature. |
Tom Legere, Vice President of Operations

Tom Legere brings more than 25 years of operational leadership experience growing revenues and strengthening operations in the semiconductor and solar industries. Most recently, Mr. Legere was Vice President of Supply Chain for eSolar where he was responsible for heliostat cost reduction.
Before joining eSolar, he served as Managing Director at Cypress where he spearheaded the creation of an external foundry business. Prior to joining Cypress, Legere was Vice President of Operations at Validity Sensor where he launched the first volume production of fingerprint sensors. Before this, while General Manager at Atmel, Mr. Legere built and operated a state-of-the-art wafer fab with continually improved profitability. Early in his career he was recruited as a Manufacturing Engineer at Xicor, where he was known for the lean transformation of manufacturing operations. Mr. Legere was the recipient of a Sherman Fairchild scholarship, holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Amherst College and an MBA degree from the University of Colorado-CS. |
Jon Myers, Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Jon Myers joined SVTC Technologies in 2008 and is responsible for SVTC’s overall Sales and Marketing activities. He comes to SVTC with over 25 years of Sales and Marketing experience in the Semiconductor and Aerospace & Defense industries. Prior to joining SVTC, Mr. Myers held executive positions at Lam Research including General Manager of the Customer Support Business Group and North America Regional Operations. He led Marketing for Teradyne’s VLSI Test Division and held multiple Sales management positions at both Lam and Teradyne. He also has a strong engineering background with experience at General Electric and Hughes Aircraft Company. Mr. Myers brings a passion for customer success and technology innovation. He continues to drive the company to identify, develop and co-create innovative solutions for our customers leveraging SVTC’s intellectual property portfolio. He has strong relationships with the venture capital community and established strategic partnerships with volume production foundries. Mr. Myers is a graduate of Harvard Business School and holds an engineering degree from Cornell University. He is involved in many community organizations in his town and, on weekends, coaches and plays soccer. |
Dave Anderson, Vice President of Corporate Business Development

Dave Anderson oversees SVTC's strategic business alliances, marketing and corporate development. A veteran of the semiconductor industry, Mr. Anderson has extensive experience in operations management, technology development, process engineering, supply chain management, international marketing and strategy.
Prior to joining SVTC, Mr. Anderson was General Manager of the Advanced Technology Development Facility (ATDF), a subsidiary of the SEMATECH consortium. There he transitioned ATDF from a captive resource to an independent development fab servicing a global customer base. He has also served the SEMATECH consortium in multiple capacities, including a rotation assignment as a member of the initial SEMATECH start-up team. Mr. Anderson was formerly the Managing Director of SEMI/SEMATECH, Senior Marketing Manager and Operations Manager for National Semiconductor and engineering leader for Fairchild Semiconductor Corp. He has published numerous articles in journals and trade publications and is a frequent invited speaker and panelist at conferences in industry and academia. Mr. Anderson holds a BSMSE in Materials Engineering from Purdue University, an MBA from Nasson College and completed doctoral studies in Industrial Engineering/ Management of Technology at Arizona State University. |
Ed Hudson, Vice President of Human Resources

Hudson comes to SVTC Technologies with 30 years of leadership experience in every aspect of human resources management, including 15+ years with Silicon Valley based technology companies and most recently 5 years with global telecommunications technology and services provider UTStarcom where he led corporate and international HR. His past experience spans both small and large technology companies, including hardware, software, and professional services consulting.
Most recently Mr. Hudson led a global HR team supporting 1500 employees in 30 countries and developed strategy, systems, and processes to support a rapidly growing technology company on a worldwide basis. He brings strong talent management, organization effectiveness, and leadership development capabilities to support the achievement of SVTC’s strategic business objectives. Hudson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, both with concentrations in Human Resources Management. |
Kevin Kassekert, Vice President of Silicon Services Business Unit

Mr. Kassekert joined SVTC Technologies in 2005 and was a key team member to drive a successful spin off from Cypress Semiconductor into a private venture in 2007. From 2005 to 2010, Mr. Kassekert held various SVTC engineering and operations management positions beginning with Engineering Manager and advancing up to Fab Services Business Unit General Manager and Fab Director of SVTC’s San Jose and Austin fabrication facilities. There he successfully managed numerous MEMS, life science and novel memory development to pilot production transition projects. Prior to 2005, Mr. Kassekert worked in manufacturing operations and global facility management implementing worldwide energy efficiency programs and leading various fab capital projects of over $100M. Kassekert holds a BSME from the University of Minnesota, Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Phoenix with a Global Management emphasis. |
